On our first night in Milledgeville, we decided to visit a pub called “Buffington” where we joined a pub quiz. This quiz is called “Trivia Night” and takes place every Wednesday. There, you have to answer questions from five categories while drinking out your beer. We received the following categories during our night: Milledgeville History, Current Events, One Piece, Dogs & Musicians. Additionally to the five questions each round, there is always a song playing which you have to guess as well. The team with the most correct answers wins. Every round a team wins gets you a free pitcher.

For us germans (& us students too), most of the questions were super hard to answer because we couldn’t share the same knowledge that locals have. Nevertheless, we had so much fun doing these questions while tasting different kinds of american beer. One of our two “german X us”-teams even won one round and one of us had the pleasure to play a drinking game for deciding the ultimate winner of the round. We lost, but what we could win was a great pub experience in the US.
After the trivia quiz, we decided to go back to our dorms to play some card games or ping pong while being drunk from all the pitchers we tasted. Considering the long car drive from the same day that we took from Carrollton to Milledgeville, the night was really worth to celebrate culture & history with a very fun & pleasant setting.
